Tell us a little about yourself
I present the Saturday show on Radio Lonsdale (The Saturday Retro Rewind Show) between 10:30am and 13:30pm. I am the membership secretary and also do the Station managers job for Radio Lonsdale.
I am a Barrovian, but have worked away from the town for most of my life. As well as the radio, my other passion is drumming, and I’m currently rehearsing with a blues band getting ready to try some stuff out on an unsuspecting public later in the year.
What Kind of Music you do like?
One of the things about presenting radio shows gives one an appreciation of all different kinds and styles of music, and to choose one category would be impossible. It changes depending on the mood I’m in. My show is all about Retro, which is anything from Rock’n’Roll to rap, and variety is the name of the game with the play lists for the show for me.
What got you interested in Radio Lonsdale?
In my dark and mirky past I did the mobile disco thing and also spent some time doing hospital radio in the SE England area. When I came back to this area, I saw that Radio Lonsdale needed volunteers so I offered my services. It is a great pastime to have if you are a music fiend like me and I am having a terrific time helping out with the station. We encourage volunteers to get involved in all areas of the operation of the station. I have done everything from presenting shows to studio engineering and even some redecorating. There is never a dull moment with Radio Lonsdale.
